8 a.m. Worship |
Worthy are thou, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for thou has created all things, and by thy will they were created and have their being. There is something quite beautiful about worshiping God early in the morning. There is a stillness, the potentials of the day are still ripe with possibilities. Our 8 a.m. worship service follows a peaceful rhythm. We gather in silence and allow our prayers to be guided by the cadences of the traditional Rite 1 Eucharist. Our worship offers an opportunity to find quiet within so that true prayer might be born in our hearts. When you visit, you will be greeted at the door by a parishioner and handed a service bulletin. The service bulletin guides you through the liturgy, referencing page numbers for the Book of Common Prayer, which is our worship manual and may be found in the book rack in front of our pews. The congregation sits in silence until the acolytes and priest enter the sanctuary to begin the service. All visitors are welcome to join us for Communion. We offer hospitality after every service. |

10:00 a.m. Worship |
Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness Beginnings and endings speak volumes. How we begin our worship is by blessing the Lord, Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we say. In the end, we go forth with God's blessing, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The blessing of life from beginning to end gathers us in a spirit of Joy. Jesus tells us in the Gospels that he desires that his joy may be in us so that our joy may be complete, John 15. Everything in our worship prepares our hearts and minds to receive God's joy; the sermon, the readings, the voices of our choir, the taste of bread and the sip of wine. As we pray and sing together, as we come forward to receive communion, we united with God and each other in His everlasting blessing. We offer hospitality after every service. |

Contrary to popular opinion, the first day of the week is not Monday but Sunday.
In the Church, Sunday is the Christian Sabbath. At Grace Church we hope that Sundays will be an experience for people to gather and worship with a congregation that fosters and enhances the values of warm hospitality, thought-provoking homilies, and spirit-filled music; Sundays are a sacred time of the week in which all are welcome and no one should feel like a stranger. Sundays are the special to us because we bring who we are to the banquet table of the Eucharist and celebrate our identity as the Body of Christ for the world to see; the source and summit the Christian life from which all of our energy flows. When you visit, you will be greeted at the door by a parishioner and handed a service bulletin. The service bulletin guides you through the liturgy, referencing page numbers from the Book of Common Prayer, which is our worship manual and may be found in book rack in front of our pews. We have professional childcare and Sunday school for children of all ages and hospitality after every service. So we welcome you to Grace Church! We are grateful that you have considered joining us on Sunday. Please know how welcome you are at Grace and understand, more importantly, how your presence is a great blessing to our Sunday experience of worship together! As the Lord Jesus invited his friends in John's Gospel to find him in the place in which he lived, so we say to you: Come and See!
