Centering Prayer group forming
Centering Prayer is a method of disposing ourselves to the action and presence of God within. It may be a helpful method of prayer for you if:

•You are seeking real relationship with God
•You feel called to move beyond words in your prayer
•You are seeking freedom from identification with the constant flow of your thoughts
•You are seeking freedom from painful emotional patterns that separate you from others and from       feeling connected with all things
•You have an attraction to silence

One of the beautiful things about this method of prayer is that it is very easy to learn. In fact, it takes the burden of responsibility for our prayer away from us and gives it to God, drawing on Paul’s suggestion that, "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words" (Romans 8:26-7).

The Centering Prayer Group will be both instruction and practice. It is for both newcomers to the method and for those seasoned in silent meditation. We will be meeting regularly on Saturdays at
8 a.m., beginning May 22. All are welcome. If you have particular questions, please speak with
Fr. Tim.
